CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics March.png

CHEF Coaching- Beyond the Basics

Course fee: $495 

CEUs: Wellcoaches 7.5, other orgs pending

Beyond the Basics beginning week of March 16

(CHEF Coaching Basics is a required prerequisite to this course)

Participants select one group day/time to complete the 5-week course.

Group 1 8-9:30 p.m. ET Mondays, March 16-April 13

Group 2 11-12:30 pm ET Tuesdays, March 17-April 14

Group 3 3-4:30 pm ET Wednesday, March 18-April 22 (no class April 1)

Group 4 6-7:30 pm ET Thursday, March 19-April 23 (no class April 2)

This 5-week course builds on the skills learned and developed from participating in and completing the CHEF Coaching Basics course. The series is an extension of that learning. Beyond the Basics consists of four weekly skills development practice sessions, one hands-on culinary telemedicine class, and opportunities for practice between the sessions, including: practicing culinary coaching with peers, making staple recipes, and working toward personal goals. 

 

 Because of the sometimes confidential nature of the sessions, the small group sessions will not be recorded.

  • Improve culinary confidence and skills, and time spent cooking, thus improving participants’ personal health. 

  • Use remote culinary resources including the CHEF Coaching resources to improve culinary behaviors of physicians and patients.

  • Develop confidence to provide live streamed, home cooking education for patients. 

  • Improve competencies to provide nutrition education using the culinary coaching approach. 

  • Incorporate home cooking education in medical encounters and shared medical appointments.

  • This course is designed for Specialty and Primary Care Physicians, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Psychologists, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Health and Wellness Coaches, Dietitians, Physical Therapists, Social Workers, Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists, Residents, Fellows, and Personal Trainers.​​

CHEF Coaching- Beyond the Basics

Date/time: 8-9:30 pm ET Tuesdays, April 21-May 19

The CHEF (Culinary Health Education Fundamentals) Coaching - Course offers a deep dive into culinary coaching, an evidence-based culinary medicine strategy that combines culinary training with health and wellness coaching through a telemedicine approach to improve nutrition and overall health. Attendees receive the latest updates of the culinary coaching approach and acquire new skills, tools, and resources to empower patients to adopt sustainable and nutritious home-cooking behaviors. This course provides education and experience that will keep graduates of the program at the forefront of this critical global trend, leading by example to improve and increase healthy eating for patients and themselves.

After the course, participants will be able to:

  • Define the relationship between home cooking and health, and discuss barriers to home cooking. 

  • Demonstrate patient-centered culinary medicine knowledge and skills and describe strategies for empowering patients to adopt home cooking. 

  • Use remote culinary resources to improve culinary behaviors of providers and their patients or clients. 

  • Develop culinary confidence and skills and learn strategies to facilitate home cooking for improved personal health. 

  • Implement telemedicine, culinary training, and health coaching in your practice.
